| This attractive and useful vintage silver plate hot chocolate pot was made by Birks, considered to be Canada's greatest silver maker. Birks started in Montreal in 1879, and Henry Birks & Sons Ltd. purchased the Canadian subsidiary of Gorham in 1907. This chocolate measures 6-1/4 inches from handle to spout and 8 inches at the top of the French ivory finial (French ivory is an early form synthetic ivory or plastic). This pot is versatile and could be used for cream or even syrup at the breakfast table. | ||||||||
