Early-to-mid twentieth century carnival mallets or mauls like this wooden one were a familiar sight on circus and carnival midways all across America. This one weighs a hefty 16 pounds and measures 36-3/4 inches overall length including handle, with the mallet measuring 9-1/2 inches long by 7-1/8 inches in diameter. A red paint band adorns the handle. This carnival mallet is a real piece of Americana. It is great American folk art.
