This outstanding Victorian Egyptian Revival silver plate water pitcher or water cooler was, as it is stamped on the bottom, manufactured with a seamless lining and egg shaped design and plated by Reed & Barton. Also stamped on the underside is "Patented by James Stimpson 1854 Extended for Seven Years ". Dimensions are 12-1/2 inches high at the finial, 6-1/2 inches at the widest point of the belly, and 11 inches handle to spout.
